How can Kronos Training be Uniquely Valuable?

Is it safe to say that Steve Jobs has in some way affected your life? I know, I know. Not another Steve Jobs tribute. I am probably the last person to talk to this. I don't own an iPod, iPad, MacBook, or any other Apple product, be it tangerine, blueberry, strawberry or ..

29 UniqueValue 01

That being said, there are other ways that we were impacted by Steve Jobs and I want to mention one that we should pay attention to in Workforce Timekeeper training.  In a recent blog article, Guy Kawasaki wrote about what he learned from Steve Jobs. (Read it here:  http://blog.guykawasaki.com/2011/10/what-i-learned-from-steve-jobs.html#axzz1bKjXLCAO )  There are a great number of valuable ideas in that blog entry, but one that really caught my attention. He states that in marketing, there is a distinct relationship between value and uniqueness.  (I am paraphrasing Mr. Kawasaki here)

Low value and low uniqueness? Find another industry...

Low value and high uniqueness? You own a market that doesn't exist.

High value and no uniqueness? It's out there in spades, you have to compete on price.

High value and high uniqueness? This is where you make money, margin, and history.

I believe these are true in any delivered product, be it an allen wrench or a valencia orange; The singing at a concert or the managing of a project.  If you are unique and you provide value, you will have a better product.  So how can we make our Kronos training valuable and unique? As with most of you out there, I am confident I can create the value. I create value by providing as much as possible in every aspect of the training program, from needs analysis, to discovery to documentation and finally to the training events and post training analysis. I strive to cover everything I can, communicating with my customers as much as possible.

But how do you make it unique?  That is probably the tougher question, but the one you should be spending more time on.  I don't think we are all trying to make history, but hey, wouldn't it be nice to create fans?

Good luck on your Kronos training implementation.
